Cover Reveal for Relentless & Excerpt by Cassio Leo

Amazon Cover

Book Jacket

Relentless
By Cassia Leo
Excerpt from Chapter Six

When I arrive at Cora’s house at five minutes past three, I only have to knock once before the lock turns and the door creaks open. Adam is standing before me wearing a soft smile and I know he’s probably been here all day.
“Come on in,” he says, holding the door wide open for me.
I walk inside and Cora is sitting in her recliner in front of the television with Bigfoot in her lap. The apartment is clean and the usual sharp litter box smell is gone. Cora looks up and smiles so big I can see the gap where she’s missing her two back molars.
“Hello, honey. Have you met Adam Parker? He’s your new neighbor,” she says in a voice that makes me feel a little like a preschooler being introduced to a classmate. “I think you two should get to know each other.”
She obviously doesn’t know about our date yet.
Adam takes a seat on the sofa, on the side closest to the recliner, and pats the cushion next to him. “Yeah, come sit down, Claire. Let’s get to know each other.”
I take a seat on the sofa, making sure to put at least a foot of space between Adam and I, then I turn to Cora. “What did you do today? Where’s Tina?”
“Adam’s been taking care of me today. He gave her the day off,” she says, and her eyes crinkle with delight.
I narrow my eyes at him and he grabs Cora’s hand as he turns back to her. “It was my pleasure. I didn’t have anything to do today since the only other person I know in this town was working.”
“You work too much, Claire,” Cora chimes in, as she continues to stroke Bigfoot with her free hand.
Geez. It’s like these two have spent the past six hours rehearsing a routine to get Adam and me together. First he switches my schedule without my knowledge and now he’s using Cora to get on my good side. He is a master conspirator.
I stand up and do a quick check around the kitchen just to satisfy my curiosity. As expected, he did everything I asked. He even stocked her cupboard with plenty of hot cereal packets and her refrigerator with lots of fresh fruit.
“Well, it looks like you’re all taken care of so I’m gonna head home,” I say, as I plant a kiss on Cora’s forehead and rub Bigfoot’s head. “I need to shower and get to bed early. I have the early shift tomorrow.”
“Walk her home, Adam,” she says sweetly and he immediately pops up off the sofa.
“See you later, Cora. We’ll have to watch that movie another time.”
“See you later, sonny,” she says, and I know what’s coming next. “But just because I call you sonny, doesn’t mean you’re bright.”
He laughs and points at her. “I can’t keep up with you, C.”
Adam follows me out of the apartment and uses his own key, which Cora must have given him, to lock her deadbolt.
I take a few steps and turn when I reach my door. “C? Did you spend the whole day with her?”
“I ran a few errands for her, but other than that, yes, I spent the day with Cora. She’s funny and we were about to watch a movie before you interrupted us.”
“Oh, well, don’t let me interrupt your date with Cora. Please go right back in.”
He steps forward and my back hits my front door as I take a step back. He leans against my door with his hands on either side of my head, effectively caging me in.
“Are you jealous of my relationship with Cora?”
His breath is hot against my nose and warmth rushes through me, lighting up my core.
“I just don’t want her to get so used to having you around. She’s had a lot of people bail on her and I….” His face is getting closer with every word I speak. “I don’t want her to get hurt.”
“Are you sure we’re talking about Cora?” he whispers against my lips, lingering for a moment before he pushes away from the door. “I work all week, but I’ll be by your house at nine a.m. on Saturday. Wear a bathing suit under your clothes.”
I let out a deep sigh and scramble into my apartment, slamming the door behind me. I take a few calming breaths then try to ignore the ache pulsating between my legs as I make my way to my bedroom to meditate.

Vain by Fisher Amelie-A GREAT READ you may be missing out on...

Do you realize Vain by Fisher Amelie has 227 5 star reviews? I have just started reading this and let me tell you there is a reason why...

If you’re looking for a story about a good, humble girl, who’s been hurt by someone she thought she could trust, only to find out she’s not as vulnerable as she thought she was and discovers an empowering side of herself that falls in love with the guy who helps her find that self, blah, blah, blah...then you’re gonna’ hate my story.

Because mine is not the story you read every time you bend back the cover of the latest trend novel. It’s not the “I can do anything, now that I’ve found you/I’m misunderstood but one day you’ll find me irresistible because of it” tale. Why? Because, if I was being honest with you, I’m a complete witch. There’s nothing redeeming about me. I’m a friend using, drug abusing, sex addict from Los Angeles. I’m every girlfriend’s worst nightmare and every boy’s fantasy.

I’m Sophie Price...And this is the story about how I went from the world’s most envied girl to the girl no one wanted around and why I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

Blog stop for Seven Years of Bad Luck by J.L. Mac

Meet Benjamin Chase and let's get to know him a little better shall we?

Ten questions with Benjamin Chase:

 1. Favorite band- I have varied taste in music but I will admit that I am partial to old school rock. I listen to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, ZZ Top, The Stones amongst others during my workouts.

 2. Movie- I really have no clue. I work my ass off pretty nonstop so I don’t really get much down time to watch movies.

 3. Food- Food. Now there is a subject I can talk about all day. I really enjoy cooking. I would say my favorite food is nothing fancy. Sixteen ounce grade-A Texas T-Bone, Medium-rare. I like my meat pink. Loaded baked potato on the side. I’m a meat and potato kind of guy.

 4. Drink- Alcohol- aged scotch. Twelve year old Ballentine’s to be specific. Other than quality scotch, I drink water and coffee and fruity wine when I am coerced into it.

 5. Color-Green.

 6. Tattoo- -I don’t have any ink myself but I have considered letting Tucker change that. I will say, I have taken a liking to tattoos with bio.mech.

 7. Book-The Catcher In The Rye. It’s a classic. Although there is this cook book that is near and dear to my heart.

 8. Holiday-Saint Patrick’s Day. There is green everywhere and it gives me a great excuse to indulge in expensive scotch.

 9. Tv show-I love that show Hell’s Kitchen. That Chef Ramsey is ruthless. He’d be great in a cross examination. He intimidates the shit out of people and he is the best at what he does. I like that guy.

10. Pet- I don’t have any pets nor do I want one. Not my thing. Maybe a fern.

Fury Day-WORD has some fun things going on...

So Fury is on sale today for: $.99

I liked this book but it was a little slow to start for me. It took until around chapter 11 to start picking up. Please don't let that deter you from reading it. It's different from your normal rock n' roll story. It had mystery, intrigue, romance and less we not forget hot Rock Stars. Once it started taking off it kept on going and didn't miss a beat and kept on going until the very last page. It kept me guessing and the plot was completely different from what I was expecting which is a VERY good thing!

The two main females are Steph and Cheyenne, they are best friends that work at a music entertainment magazine. Steph is the photographer and Cheyenne is the writer. They get sent on a month long excursion with the band FURY. Here is what I liked about the characters...They were complete opposites from one another but complimented each other so well. They didn't tip toe around each other and I liked that. They said what was on their mind and got over it. That shows true friendship!

The men of FURY were equally different in their own right. Here is where the Author's truly rocked it...They can write for a man and you picture a man actually saying what they were saying. Make sense? It should. There is nothing worse then reading a book and you can no way shape or form see a guy saying something and it almost sounds more feminine or it can be the opposite and it's too domineering. So not the case. They did a spectacular job of writing for the men. Scot was by far my favorite of the FURY. He was sincere and grabbed me from page 1. Sometimes the characters are too cocky and too sure of themselves. That was definitely not Scot. Nathan took the cake with the cockiness. I wished there had been a few more scenes between Scot and Cheyenne though.

Phillip and Steph were the antagonistic couple that irritated each other from first sight. We know where antagonism almost always leads to though right? Sparks fly baby!

Overall I truly enjoyed it. The mystery was great and I liked the well thought out plot. It was well thought out, thoroughly. Definitely a book worth reading. Would love to see Nathan find a woman that knocks him on his ass and sends him down a peg or two. Book 2 of the Fury men? Hopefully!

Blog Tour of Silenced by RaeBeth McGee-Buda

My Review of Silenced:

SilencedSilenced by RaeBeth McGee-Buda
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Silenced is about a girl named Amber who has just found out that the father she always assumed was her father is in fact not. In order to cope with this she cuts herself. Her family up and moves her away to another town. There she meets Casey who befriends her. Amber also decides to go on a search for her biological father.

Casey went too hot n' cold for me. I know there were reasons for it but I just could not at all connect with her, period. Amber's mother drove me absolutely batty. I understand being over protective to a point but it was almost verging on crazy. I never felt a connection between Landon and Amber. They were intimate way too fast and the relationship was very rushed.

I liked the story and it was a quick and fast read. The only character I felt a connection to was with was Amber. On a complete positive note: RaeBeth did a FANTASTIC job of describing the need that Amber felt to cut herself. The darkness that would over take her and how she felt after. I'm not going to lie it was a little uncomfortable for me to read. However, having said that, it really does give great insight into the world of cutting. Because even if it's not spoken about, it does happen and more than we like to admit, as well as why girls cut themselves and some understanding behind it.

There were some twists and turns along the way. Some I saw coming and some I did not.

There will be a book 2 and I will read it. I need to see what happens and how and if things get resolved.

This is a hard subject matter to hear about but I give some major kudos to RaeBeth McGee-Buda for writing about it and helping us to understand it better...

Excerpts :

The following excerpt is taken from Chapter 1.

I grab the razor blade I took from my dad’s garage. It’s tiny, but sharp. I turn it over in my hands, nicking my palm. The blood trickles down my wrist and I smile with grim satisfaction. Yes, this will do the job. I catch one last look in the mirror; the pain makes me want to explode. I can’t take it anymore. I press it lightly against my wrist, tracing a blue vein under my skin. The razor is cold, smooth, and comforting. I press harder, dragging it across my wrist over and over like I’m going to saw it off. Pain comes rushing out. Free at last.

The intensity is too much and I sink to the floor, leaning against the bathroom door while trying to catch my breath. I stay like this for a while, dripping blood onto the tile. Unexpectedly, the front door slams closed. I jump. I scramble for some toilet paper and press it to the wound.

“Amber?” my mother yells up the stairs, “We’re home.”

Yet I can’t move. I'm numb. I can’t even answer her back to tell her something, anything, to make sure she doesn’t come up here and see me like this.

“Do you hear me?” she yells again.

I gather up the energy to fight through the lack of feeling. “I hear you. Sorry. I’ll be down in a minute,” I reply hastily, hoping deep down inside she can’t hear my shaking voice. I hear her shoes tapping on the hardwood floors in the kitchen and I know I'm safe for a short time.

I need to get off the floor, even though the numbness is still lingers throughout my body. I search deep inside for whatever strength I have left and push myself up. My arms are shaking but they’re able to hold me for a brief moment. Standing is a bit harder. I use the bathroom counter for support as I reach for the medicine cabinet to get the first aid kit.

I find the gauze and tape on the top shelf. Then sit back down. Resting on the toilet, I gently wrap my arm where my mom won’t notice, and tape it down. After the tape, I slide the sports band on. Another job well done.

About the Author:
I started my obsession with reading at an early age, getting in trouble for sneaking BabySitter Club and Nancy Drew books into math class in elementary school. I would read any fiction book I could get my hands on. I knew it was an addiction when instead of grounding me from TV or music, my mom would take away my books as punishment (The Horror!). My love of all things paranormal was inspired by my good friend Laurie, who convinced me that books with vampires, witches, and all things shifter were amazing. After a little reluctance, I gave it a shot with the Sookie Stackhouse books, realized she was right, and the rest was history.
I grew up in Pittsburgh, graduated from The University of Pittsburgh with my degree in English, and taught 8th graders to love reading as much as I do for several years. I will always be a proud member of the Steelers Nation, but I couldn't take the cold and moved my frozen tush to Florida where I now live with my family and two cats. You will find me now with my trusty Kindle in hand and toes in the sand!

Blog Tour Stop: The Proposal by Katie Ashley

The Proposal Blog Tour Stops:

My Review of The Proposal by Katie Ashley

So I had jumped on the band wagon finally and read the Proposition which of course I was head over freaking heels for. Then Katie asked me if I wanted an ARC of The Proposal. Heck yeah, a no brainer there.

Let's just say it was a fun, emotional journey that kept me turning the page and wanting to know the outcome and how or if, it was going to be resolved.

She couldn't have kept it anymore real and true to life. It was perfection at it's best! It flowed, never ever rushed and made you feel as if you were a part of their story. I felt for Aidan's plight. I felt his love for her and the desperation and willingness he would go to get her back. What I loved is the transformation he himself had to overcome. It didn't happen over night, it was a process.

Emma my friends is a breath of fresh air. Her reactions are true and sincerely honest. You can't help but feel her pain. She never stops loving Aidan but you see how scared she is to forgive, afraid and terrified of the disappointment and hurt of having it repeated all over again.

We are introduced to another rather steamy character that you really can't help but like. His goodness just oozes off of the page.

Casey and Connor are the PERFECT friends to have in your corner. Casey's mouth always made me laugh and Connor's aversion to the female genitalia was downright hysterical.

This book is about the power of love and what you are willing to do to fight for it. The importance of forgiveness and what family means and that if you truly love each other, love can overcome.

My review of MERCY, A Gargoyle Story

I am reeling from just finishing this book. My eyes are wet and I want to cry some more. The words are I'm trying to type are having an extremely difficult time coming out to explain how I feel. Please bare with me... From the very first page I felt as if I was transported to another place and another time. It flowed like a poem. Please be patient as it does give you allot of information that you do not understand at first. However, hang tight, because you do get there and you completely start to get it and see the flow and understanding of what Misty presents. Mercy had so many different meanings & layers throughout the whole book. There is so much to take from it. You have a girl who is so desperate to have love and be loved. Who went through a horrific experience, to be thrown out and feel so desperate that she would throw her own life away and beg to die. I found myself heartbroken for this poor beautiful girl that truly had know one to love her. That saw her surface, her beauty as the only redeeming quality. I'm not sure I have felt such rawness and pain in a book that made me feel in "the" moment. Misty does not sugarcoat things. She lays them all out for you and makes you feel. This is such a different and unique and beautifully written book. I'm sorry if my review is not helpful to you. I may have to come back and revise after I have had more time to think about it. I highly recommend it and I do believe you will take something from it as I have!

Gavin's top 5

1. Favorite band : RED

2. Favorite food: SUSHI

3. Favorite color: YANKEES BLUE

4. Favorite tattoo:  MY DRAGON TATTOO..BUT I AM GETTING ANOTHER AND THAT MIGHT TURN OUT TO BE MY FAVORITE

5. Favorite pet: EMILY

My review of Collide

I wanted to think long and hard prior to writing my review as I am still thinking and reeling from it all. The first thing I did was look up the definition of Collide.

1. To come together with violent, direct impact.2. To meet in opposition; conflict

This is Collide. It is a definite roller coaster chock full of emotion. It's a story full of flowing dialogue, a descriptive plot with characters that you mostly love and one you just have to hate.

I was captivated and taken by Gavin Blake. I'm not sure it's Gail's love for David Gandy that has me picturing him as "Gavin" or, no I'm sure that's it..;) Gavin is every girls dream guy and perfect in every possible way and he is very shmexy. When he loves, he love's hard and thoroughly....

Emily is in a relationship with Dillon. Dillon I truly could not stand. He is a quintessential asshole. Emily I did like, contrary to what some might think. Having grown up without a father She stays in a relationship for the most part because her dying mother said to hold on to him. If you were in that position what would you do? Think before you answer.

I found myself shouting and being pissed off in a couple of places in the book and wanting to scream and holler at Emily for her lack of listening skills. However, it has memorable characters and one liners that are so damn funny you find yourself laughing out loud. Olivia is Emily's best friend and loyal and hysterical as all get out. She herself deserves a whole book in my opinion...

This is a fantastic read that will make you laugh, cry, cuss and want to bitch slap a couple of characters. You definitely get invested in them and start to care. It kept me wanting more and I'm truly looking forward to Pulse book 2 to see what Ms. Gail McHugh has in store...(less)

Cover Reveal: Lost to You by A.L. Jackson

People come into our lives. Some stay, and many go. Some build us up, while most tear us down. They become our friends, our enemies, our lovers, our tormentors.

Christian Davison came into mine, and I knew I’d never be the same.

To Elizabeth Ayers, New York City had always been a dream. She’s worked her entire young life to make it here.

Groomed to one day take over his father’s law firm, attending Columbia University was Christian Davison’s only option.

My review of Up to Me by Michelle Leighton

I was spinning after reading this book. Down to You was awesome and one of my favorite reads from 2012, however Up to Me is twice as good and boy does she deliver.

Down to You is definitely an introduction compared to Up to Me. In Up to Me, Olivia is still unsure about her feelings towards Cash. Deep down I know she loves him but is so terrified of falling into old habits with the "bad" boys. At the end of Down to You I knew Cash was more than just a bad boy. There was a lot more to him than just that. We get to see his protective side towards Olivia and what he is willing to do to keep her safe.

Michelle takes us on an adventure. We gain a lot of insight into the organization his father was involved with and there are a crap load of twists and turns along the way.

I had several "Oh crap" moments. I was never expecting things to happen that happened. Never! I have NEVER been so surprised in a book before. I was messaging Michelle right after with, "what just happened?" Never saw it coming...

The dialogue between Cash, Olivia and Marissa is particularly funny. I laughed out loud I don't know how many times! One in particular she says," makes my butt pucker." I seriously cracked up several times throughout the book. However, there were also several sweet and tender moments that made me love Cash even more.

We are introduced to new characters who frankly need, no MUST have a book of their own as well as a character you couldn't stand in the last book and end up liking.

One of the last "moments" between Cash and Olivia is an OMG. I specifically commented on how absolutely perfect it was and if I could trade places with Olivia I would have in a New York minute. It was absolute perfection. The steam between Olivia and Cash is beyond boiling and boy does she give us some great scenes.

How she does it I will never know. Michelle is truly amazing. It's been a week since I finished and I am still thinking & reeling about it. The only booger of it all is the wait for book 3 which I will be chewing my nails in anticipation for. One of the BEST series out there!!

Blog Tour Stop: The Valentine's Arrangement by Kelsie Leverich Top 10 things & Review

I read this book in no time flat and was completely taken by surprise. I jumped on the band wagon to get on her blog tour lickity split. It was that good and I want more.........

“I didn’t want the line to get blurry, and I sure as hell didn’t want you to cross it.”

Ronnie Clark, an edgy tattoo artist with hopes of high tailing it out of the forsaken Military town she followed her now ex-fiancĂ© to, is counting down the days until Valentine’s Day is over. Ronnie doesn’t do romance. She doesn’t do flowers or dates, and she sure as hell doesn’t do love—not anymore. After her fiancĂ© slept with a female solider while deployed, she has vowed never to fall in love again, especially with a soldier.

Sergeant First Class Kale Emerson is home on his mid-tour leave from Iraq, but he only has one thing on his mind—returning to his deployment to finishing leading his soldiers on their mission. The last thing he wants is a relationship, but casual sex, that’s a different story. And when he meets the renowned tattoo artist Ronnie Clark, a snarky, blunt, takes no prisoners kind of woman, that seems to be all he can think about.

But when Kale realizes he has met his match with a bombshell woman who is hell bent against love, will just sex be enough? And if it’s not, will he be able to convince Ronnie that the proverbial hearts and flowers aren’t so bad after all, even if he is a soldier?

“You changed something inside me, something I didn’t ever think I would want, or feel—but you did, and now I can’t go back”
This book contains explict sex scenes and is recommended for readers 18+(less)

My Review of The Valentine's Arrangement by Kelsie Leverich

There is absolutely nothing bad I can say about this book. NOTHING! I loved the plot, it flowed completely through out the whole book and I adored all of the characters. Every single "main" character was likable. Ronnie was freaking awesome! Kelsie did a kick ass job writing her. She was sexy, snarky, quick with the one liners and a tattoo artist to boot. I'm a tattoo freak so Kelsie had me at tattoo. The whole story line was different than anything I've read as of late.

Kale, oh handsome hot Kale... In the book Ronnie refers to Kale as Captain America. Guess what ladies? So did I. In the book that is how I kept picturing him. I absolutely fell in love with him.

Ronnie has been hurt by an ex fiance who happens to be a soldier. In walks Kale who just happens to also be a soldier, to have a tattoo done by the "best". Man, isn't Kale surprised to find that Ronnie is not a he but a she. Pleasantly surprised at that. I think myself it's the snarkiness of Ronnie that intrigues him at first not to mention she's very easy on the eyes to look at. Sparks ignite even if Ronnie doesn't want them too.

This isn't your average boy meets girl book. For me this is a book about letting your guard down and seeing things for what they actually are and were. Being able to open yourself up to the possibility of love and moving on even if it means getting yourself hurt in the process...

I could feel the sizzle in the pages and I am not ready to let Kale and Ronnie go as a couple. I'm needing more. Bring on a book 2 Kelsie Leverich... Yes, I liked it that much...
